Volunteer Job Posting :Finance Position:Finance Committee Member Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the community by supporting those experiencing grief and loss? Lighthouse, a dedicated Grief Training and Resource Centre, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Finance Committee.As a Committee Member, you will play an important role in ensuring Lighthouse manages its resources to provide on-going delivery of services to grieving children in our communities. Key Responsibilities : Manages and oversees financial controls Develops policies and procedures relating to finance and contingency planning Provides support in the development of the annual budget In conjunction with the Fundraising Committee, develops an annual cash flow forecast and reviews the Gift and Fundraising policy Liaises with the auditors and bookkeeping company to ensure accurate recording of all transactions and the completion of the annual audit Develops recommendations for the Investment Policy. Preferred Qualifications : A financial designation or similar experience (15+ years) in financial controls, budgeting, and investing Demonstrated leadership and communication skills Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and community members A sincere desire to support the Lighthouse organization and our children and families Availability for monthly meetings and fundraising events Experience working with not-for-profit or charity organizations would be an asset Commitment : Minimum of 2-year, maximum of 6-year commitment Monthly online committee meetings from September to June with the occasional in-person meeting to replace a virtual meeting as arranged by the committee Chair in conversation with the committee.
