Role Overview: As a Heavy Duty Technician, you will uphold the excellence of Western Star Trucks by maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting customer equipment and performing maintenance as required. Work will primarily be in our shop and yard, with occasional visits to customer locations. Responsibilities: Diagnose equipment/truck problems and determine necessary repairs. Communicate repair diagnoses accurately to Shop Foreman and Service Writers. Complete repairs efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines and ensuring high-quality workmanship. Determine if failures are warrantable and communicate additional defects found. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and maintain up-to-date knowledge of new product information. Qualifications: Proven ability to use and maintain necessary tools (excluding supplied equipment/specialty tooling). Excellent teamwork and independent work skills. Professional and courteous demeanor with customers and peers. Flexibility in work hours to meet department demands. Class 1 or 3 and Q endorsement License is an asset and attracts a premium.
