About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Operational Due Diligence to play a key role in the success of the Operational Due Diligence team within the larger Investment Finance division. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operational Due Diligence, the selected candidate will be instrumental in advancing and supporting CAATs comprehensive operational due diligence program. This position is responsible for organizing and supporting in the operational due diligence reviews of potential and existing external investment managers across all major asset classes (public equities, fixed income, commodities, hedge funds, private equity, real assets). The Operational Due Diligence program identifies, assesses, monitors, and reports on organizational risks associated with fund investments, external investment managers, and key service providers. As the Newest Member of our Team, Youll: Coordinate, prepare for, and conduct operational due diligence assessments (desk-based analysis, update calls, onsite visits). Analyze key areas such as personnel, documentation, systems, policies, controls, and identify potential conflicts of interest. Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of risks related to investment managers and their strategies. Issue information requests and questionnaires, review responses, and conduct follow-ups. Facilitate meetings and calls with investment managers, documenting insights. Ensure accurate tracking of ODD program information for internal reporting. Draft comprehensive ODD memos summarizing work performed and operational evaluations. Collaborate with Investment and Investment Finance teams. Coordinate the review of pooled fund audited financial statements. Engage in industry events to stay informed on emerging issues. Occasional travel may be required. To Succeed, You Bring: 3-5 years of experience in operational due diligence, advisory, asset management, investment operations, internal audit, or a similar role at a pension plan, institutional allocator, asset management, or accounting/consulting/advisory firm. An undergraduate or advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A working knowledge of financial instruments and alternative investment strategies (hedge funds, private equity, real estate, infrastructure) as well as traditional equity and fixed income strategies. Familiarity with investment fund operations, fund administration, prime brokerage, audit, legal, compliance, valuations, and IT. Pursuing or having already obtained a CPA, CFA, or CAIA designation would be a strong asset. Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% of the time. A strong understanding of operational due diligence principles and best practices, with the ability to analyze complex investment structures and identify potential risks. Sound judgment and decision-making skills, combined with a commitment to accuracy, thoroughness, and a proactive, deadline-oriented approach. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and strong report writing and presentation skills.
