Carte International has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, independent, and highly motivated MaintenanceMillwright to join our team in a Safety Certified facility. As a member of the maintenance team, you will work closely with the Industrial Engineering, Production and Continuous Improvement teams. You will participate in team efforts to achieve department goals, complete tasks on time and according to SOPs and regulatory requirements while providing support to other roles within the maintenance team. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Daily/weekly/monthly and annual reviews of equipment to ensure PMs are adequately created/performed to work towards and sustain manufacturing phase progression. Conduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, repair, troubleshoot, replace, install, and maintain: Dismantle, repair and assemble equipment as required by manufacturing specifications and recommended standards. Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and programable logic controls. Carry out Preventative Maintenance procedures and keep schedule up to date. Follow all safety precautions (i.e. lockouts) and procedures when carrying out work on equipment. Log all updates in the Preventative Maintenance HIPPO Log. Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability by participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules. Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Maintain and repair physical structures including fences, gates and roofs. Perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting in accordance with codes, blueprints, and manuals. Perform metal fabrication operations including layout, drilling, tapping, sawing, and grinding. Perform welding and flame cutting operations applicable to MIG, stick, oxy-acetylene, and plasma cutting. Ability to perform work at heights using scissor lift, articulated lift, and ladders. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety and health regulations. Oversee contractors performing professional repairs. Work during scheduled shutdown, shift work and overtime to accommodate scheduled maintenance equipment. (required) Must be on call on weekends on a rotational basis (required) TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL NEED: Must have completed apprenticeship training or equivalent and be qualified as Millwright with an Interprovincial Red Seal ticket. 2-3 years of manufacturing experience. As a certified Millwright you will install, test, remove, repair and service a wide range of large and small industrial machinery and equipment. Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work to exacting standards. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to maintain and repair machines and equipment. Excels in locating, investigating, and diagnosing failures, irregularities and malfunctions. Excels at interpreting manuals, blueprints, schematics, written instructions and maintaining logs. Able to work in a team environment under minimal supervision. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with a keen sense of urgency. Experience and proficiency in the use of machine shop equipment, hand, power and measuring tools, and electrical and manual tools (hoists, saws, drills, etc.). Valid Manitoba drivers license. Ability to read and follow blueprints, maintenance work orders, and repair manuals as necessary Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics Experience in lathe and milling, electrical, welding and plumbing are considered assets. Proficient in standards, codes, best practices, safe work policies and practices. Safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, power tools. Proficiency in safe methods of hoisting and rigging at all times. Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment. Ability to complete required daily paperwork with legible penmanship. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with internal and external people at all levels. Tenacious, highly motivated self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills. LEADERSHIP: Strong leadership skills. Lead the Millwright Apprenticeship program. Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives in the plant. Mentors and are authorized to sign off apprentices within the company. Mentors and trains junior workers to develop trade related skills. Leads laborers and resources as required for a specific task.
