We''re Growing Again! Join Our Team at Nimmons Law Office Nimmons Law Office is seeking an intermediate to senior Legal Assistant with litigation experience to join our team. We are a boutique law firm located just off Uptown 17th Avenue in the historic Nimmons Residence, a designated Calgary Heritage site. Our office environment is casual yet fast-paced, with a strong focus on litigation. About the Role The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience and be This role involves assisting Senior Counsel with litigation files while also supporting administrative functions as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: Solid background in litigation, including file management, preparing court documents, and scheduling. Proficiency in Esilaw or a willingness to quickly become proficient. Strong initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to office efficiency. Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic litigation practice. Assisting lawyers in the preparation and coordination of hearings and trials; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings and filing requirements. Coordinating and dispersing tasks to be performed by various resource groups such as the Document Specialists, Administrative Clerks, Billing Assistants, etc. where appropriate while ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. Manages time, resources, workflow and deadlines of legal professionals which involves maintaining a filing system for all documents, compiling and organizing materials required for legal professionals work-in-progress, opening up new files, etc. Prepares and assists in compiling all court documents including affidavits, application records, etc. Maintain records ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements including limitation dates. Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment. Understanding legal terminology, court rules and procedures. Ability to handle pressure and remain calm when dealing with deadlines and large volumes of work.
