As our Manager, Development & Fundraising , youll have the unique opportunity to guide and grow our major gifts program, turning our brands legacy into a cause that not only resonates with the hearts and minds of donors across the province but motivates them to invest in our work. St. John Ambulance is renowned worldwide for its dedication to first aid, community service, and emergency response, and we need your expertise to expand our donor base, securing the funding that powers our mission. Your role will be to bring our incredible story to life, showcasing the tangible impact of our work and inspiring both current and potential supporters to make an enduring commitment to our cause. Job responsibilities include: Craft and execute our first comprehensive fundraising strategy , aligning with the mission to connect with high-value donors and individuals committed to making a meaningful difference. This role is perfect for someone passionate about building a development program from the ground up while driving sustainable change. Identify, establish, and nurture strategic relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community foundations, ensuring long-term engagement and securing increased funding for SJA BCY. Proactively prospect and engage new donors , focusing on building sustainable, long-term relationships and identifying opportunities for expanded funding partnerships. Develop, manage, and track a dynamic fundraising pla n that prioritizes donor stewardship, aligns with annual targets, and ensures sustainable funding to propel our mission forward. Collaborate with Marketing offering a donor-lens to capital campaigns, clearly highlighting the impact of contributions and creating opportunities for deeper donor engagement. Promote SJA BCYs mission, vision, and values to inspire current and potential donors, strengthening emotional connections and fostering increased support for the cause. Maintain a proven track record of building trust and credibility with donors , ensuring consistent stewardship and securing ongoing contributions. Provide key insights and reports to the Director of Marketing & Community Services, CEO, and Senior Leadership Team , demonstrating the impact and growth of our fundraising initiatives. Ensure compliance with all fundraising regulations , particularly around donor confidentiality, privacy, and tax matters, while upholding the highest ethical standards in stewardship. What you offer: Bachelors'' degree in communications, business, public relations, or relatedfields Proven experience in major gifts fundraising, with a deep understanding of best practices for cultivating, securing, and stewarding high-value donations, and a commitment to long-term donor engagement. Minimum 3-5 years'' experience in donor-centered fundraising, working with individuals, corporations, and foundations to secure and maintain meaningful contributions. High degree of professionalism in all interactions, particularly when engaging with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a donor-first approach at all times. Self-starter capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive responsibilities, with a laser focus on building and sustaining strong donor relationships; comfortable working independently and within a small team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate compelling donor stories and impact. Strong relationship-building expertise, able to engage a diverse range of stakeholders while fostering trust and loyalty with donors. Proficiency with CRM tools, particularly Microsoft Suite, to manage donor information and track engagement effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to drive donor retention, while maintaining and expanding relationships with both internal and external partners. Passionate about the organizations brand and its mission, eager to share the impact of donor contributions. Comfortable presenting to small and large groups, effectively engaging potential donors and inspiring support. What we have to offer: A competitive compensation package with a salary range of $66,000 - $77,000 per annum, based on experience, education, and internal equity.
