Position: Electrical Engineer (Solar) Location: Downtown Toronto, hybrid 2 days onsite Job Type: 1-year contract Overview: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role provides engineering support to ensure the reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of electrical distribution and solar generation assets. The engineer oversees the development and management of solar generating assets, including maintenance planning, performance analysis, contractor coordination, budgeting, and long-term strategy.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and analyze solar asset performance, identifying and resolving issues.Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to optimize reliability and efficiency.Manage contractors for solar asset repairs and refurbishments.Conduct data analysis to support asset condition assessments and planning.Collaborate with stakeholders to execute maintenance programs.Prepare technical specifications, evaluate proposals, and assess new technologies.Support corporate goals through engineering insights and continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred).Experience in distribution utilities, project management, and maintenance analysis is an asset.Professional Engineer designation in Ontario is preferred.Knowledge of PV solar systems, data analytics, and business case modeling.Proficiency in Alteryx, Tableau, MS Office, CAD, SAP, and engineering software.Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to manage change, collaborate effectively, and drive innovation.Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.Interested?
