Apply today!Duties and Responsibilities: The key job functions are:Project Management & Execution: Lead and coordinate project scopes, deliverables, and schedules to ensure successful project completion.Field Engagement: Combine office-based design work with field experience to ensure practical project execution.Design & Analysis: Develop engineering designs and calculations for electrical power systems up to 138kV, including load flow, short circuit, and protection studies.Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and specifications to support project goals and compliance requirements.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and maintain project alignment.Quality Assurance: Conduct design reviews and oversee QA/QC processes during construction phases.Software Utilization: Utilize ETAP for power system design and be proficient in CAD software to develop production and component drawings.Education:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian-accredited university.5-7 years of experience working in both large and small company environments.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or eligibility for APEGA membership.Qualifications: Valid Class 5 drivers license and passport for occasional travel.Must be a current resident of Calgary, AB (relocation not supported)Experience:Minimum 5-years of experience in Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineering Technician roles.Previous field experience in industrial and electrical utility environments.Must have proficiency with medium voltage systems and ETAP software.Experience with CAD software (preferred).Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes and design standards.Knowledge of structural analysis related to poles, foundations, and catenary tension calculations.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.Skills:Communication & Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and communicate technical information clearly.Organizational Skills & Prioritization: Highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently.Project Support & Execution: Experience in supporting engineering projects, ensuring successful completion through effective planning and execution.Technical Oversight & System Understanding: Proficient in overseeing project tasks, from design to construction, ensuring compliance with technical standards and quality.Innovation & Initiative: Self-motivated with a focus on developing creative, industry-leading solutions while continuously improving processes and practices.Analytical Thinking & Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on diagnosing issues and making effective, data-driven decisions.Base Salary: $80,000-$120,000+ per yearSalary based on experience and credentials (as per APEGA salary guide)Full benefits package and bonus structure includedWork Hours:40 hours per weekMonday FridayAdditional Notes:This opportunity does not include relocation.All applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to be considered for employment.Equity.
