We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, creative Product Developer , with a passion for the bakery food industry , to support our growing business. Reporting directly to our R&D Director, the Product Developer will oversee all aspects of development from concept to commercialization of new bakery products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a deep understanding of food science, and a passion for innovation. The ''Recipe'' - Job Essentials Own the product development process from concept, formulation, sourcing ingredients, bench-top prototyping, pilot plant trials and full-scale commercialization Formulate new products with consideration to equipment capability, nutritional profile, regulatory compliance, cost, and sensory targets Coordinate the commercialization of bench top product, collaborate with QA, Plant Managers, Production and other teams to ensure seamless integration and product quality. Coordinate samples and conducting testing to validate product design and functionality as requested. Manage sample process, product development timelines, first production trials and existing product quality. Monitor the performance of both post-launch and existing product performance, gather feedback, implement improvements based on findings, and maintain accurate records of the development process. Manage and maintain formulation and information database to provide accurate and timely information to required departments. Stay up to date with Canadian and US nutrition and labelling laws Ability to decorate or assist in decorating different baked good products. Post-secondary in food science, culinary or a related field Experience in an R&D/Product development role in the baked goods industry Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Detail orientated with a creative mindset. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Experienced at all stages of food product development. Strong knowledge of baking ingredient functionality. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and food safety standards.
