Position Description UNICEF Canada''s Annual Giving portfolio is dedicated to re-engaging and stewarding the generous supporters who make one-off gifts during the year. Reporting to the Manager, Annual Giving (Retention), the Senior Officer, Individual Giving (Retention) drives day-to-day activities to grow the annual giving portfolio, enhance donor retention, and maximize value from existing audiences. This key role focuses on developing and executing campaigns and projects that align with UNICEF Canadas fundraising objectives. The Senior Officer ensures effective project management and cross- functional collaboration to keep initiatives on track and on budget. This position requires working closely with internal teams and external partners to optimize the annual giving portfolio while continuously improving efficiency, outcomes, and teamwork in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. With a focus on direct response fundraising and stewardship programs, this role supports efforts to achieve revenue targets exceeding $8 million annually and plays a critical role in retaining donors while building pipelines for Pledge, Legacy, and Major Donor programs. Responsibilities Marketing, Revenue Generation and Project Management (50%) Collaborate with the Manager, Annual Giving (Retention) to lead project management for all annual giving campaigns targeting existing donors, including: Direct mail, Email, Digital, Voice broadcast messages, Telemarketing, and SMS. Oversee the development and implementation of stewardship journeys for annual giving donors, including regular, mid-level, and emergency audiences. Identify opportunities for testing and innovation to enhance campaign performance, incorporating market trends into stewardship and appeal strategies. Project-manage the periodic update of supporter thank you letters, including digital auto-responders and tax receipt letters for annual giving campaigns. Foster collaboration by coordinating with internal teams to support integrated fundraising opportunities. Support relationship management with key external vendors (e.g., creative teams, printers, Canada Post, telemarketing vendors), including developing project briefs, ensuring smooth campaign execution, and conducting follow-ups to maintain strong partnerships. Assist in developing and executing email campaigns with multiple web assets, maintaining the email file, and advising internal teams on digital best practices for optimization. Participate in planning and strategy sessions for the Annual Giving program. Data Analysis, Reporting, and Expense Management (30%) Review weekly gift reports and dashboards to monitor trends and identify insights. Provide ongoing reporting and analysis for each fundraising activity/program, including budget-to-actual expense and revenue tracking, campaign performance, and audience retention. Regularly review with the Manager, Annual Giving and, in collaboration with Manager, recommend corrective actions to optimize revenue and expense ratios. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by adhering to organizational business rules. Collaborate with the Business Solutions team to request and set up appeal codes for campaign tracking. Develop post-campaign analyses and recommend improvements for future initiatives. Lead testing strategies for email and direct mail campaigns to ensure continuous optimization. Pull, interpret, and present data and reports, applying strong analytical and project management skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, goal setting, and team processes. Track work and spending against budgets for both projects and the overall program. Review and approve invoices for accuracy before submission. Administration (20%) Track and process all invoices for the Annual Giving portfolio. Maintain records of marketing campaign samples, cataloging them for historical tracking and testing purposes. Present weekly status updates on key program areas. Write campaign briefs, integrating strategic, budgetary, and creative input from team members. Develop project plans, including workback schedules and roles and responsibilities, in collaboration with teammates. Manage deadlines by scheduling and monitoring tasks, tracking timelines, proactively communicating with stakeholders, and resolving potential issues. Schedule and lead meetings, capturing and communicating key takeaways and actions. Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, including agencies, vendors, and media partners. Act as an internal liaison among teammates and coordinate campaign reviews, approvals, and feedback processes. Qualifications A university degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in marketing, business, or a related field. 35 years of experience in marketing, fundraising, or direct mail. Proven track record of executing successful direct response campaigns with measurable ROI. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Knowledge of data management, analytics, and effective marketing best practices. Results-driven, detail-oriented, and able to follow through on timelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated team player with a proactive approach, transparent communication style, and collaborative mindset. Genuine interest in UNICEF Canadas mission and work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with Raisers Edge, digital marketing, and/or French language skills (considered assets).
