Job Description

Overview The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company''s sales strategy and operations. This includes establishing and executing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and fostering relationships to drive revenue growth. In collaboration with the Director of Operations and the Marketing team, the Director of Sales ensures the companys sales targets align with long-term strategic objectives, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This leadership role requires an individual who is both visionary and hands-on, skilled in managing teams and navigating a dynamic industry. Key Accountabilities Sales Strategy & Development: Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies that drive revenue and market share growth, ensuring alignment with company goals. Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities, establishing relationships with key clients, partners, suppliers, and vendors. Client Relationship Management: Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business. Market Expansion: Develop strategies to expand the companys market presence and brand profile, identifying emerging markets and trends. Sales Performance Management: Evaluate sales performance, providing guidance and support to district sales managers and sales representatives. Make adjustments to sales tactics as necessary to meet goals. Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the Director of Operations, Master Grower, and Marketing team to ensure company-wide goals and objectives are met. Cross-Functional Leadership: Build and lead cross-functional teams to drive sustainable, long-term growth, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across departments. Product and Market Insights: Track market trends and customer feedback, providing recommendations for product development, distribution strategies, and promotional efforts. Strategic Partnerships: Identify and propose new partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to extend the companys reach and influence. Brand Representation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Conduct webinars and presentations to enhance the brands visibility and reputation. Travel: Travel to meet with clients, visit vendor locations, and attend industry events as required. Proposals & RFPs: Lead the creation and submission of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and clients, ensuring timely and thorough responses. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure Sales Team complies with the Cannabis Act and associated regulations. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other operational tasks as required to support the sales function. Experience and Education Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, an MBA would be considered an asset. Strong understanding of sales strategies, business development, and market expansion. Experience in highly regulated production environments such as cannabis, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and beverage, alcohol, or cosmetics is an asset. Comfortable with travel and representing the company at industry events. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate sales teams to achieve ambitious targets. Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and strategic thinking abilities. Ability to analyze market data and trends to identify new opportunities. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic computer systems. Outstanding organizational and time-management capabilities. Requirements This position requires the completion of security background checks in accordance with the Cannabis Act (the candidate must be able to obtain a Health Canada Security Clearance).
