THE OPPORTUNITY: We are currently seeking Underground Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics, Automotive Technicians and Truck & Coach Technicians to join our Mining Client in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time unionized position offering comprehensive benefits, performance bonus and more. The primary function of this role will be to inspect, maintain, adjust, modify, repair, and test all mine mobile equipment and to dismantle and assemble the equipment as required. RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in appropriate training and comply within the scope of their responsibilities within the Sustainable Development Management System, which includes the Environmental Management System. Communicate on issues pertaining to materials/parts availability, maintenance systems, modifications to equipment and changes in standard practices. Advise and arrange materials and parts are shipped to surface for rebuilding or disposal. Receive oral and/or written instructions from the supervisor including schematics, sketches, wiring diagrams and priority requirements. Follow established safety procedures while ensuring a safe working environment. Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting, adjusting, lubricating, repairing or replacing faulty components on mechanical equipment. Test repaired equipment or component for correct operating performance. Report to supervision any development which, if left unchecked, could result in a premature breakdown or if the result could lead to an unsafe condition, take immediate appropriate action. Report to supervision and in various log books and work orders, the equipment worked on, the parts used or repaired, and the type of work performed. Utilize the computerized Maintenance Management System to access equipment and warehouse information, to generate requests for materials required, and to initiate work orders for immediate an to be planned work. Perform other related duties, as requested. REQUIREMENTS: Licensed or certified Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Service Technician or Truck & Coach Technician 3+ years of industry work experience Must possess a valid drivers license Ability to use a variety of tools, equipment, and materials, including; hydraulic pressure gauges, computerized diagnostic equipment, electric and pneumatic hand power tools and vehicles.
