Job Description

Our client is a well established and recognized leader in their industry distributing both their core brands and private label products through all top grocery and big box retailers across North America. The Director of Procurement leads all procurement and sourcing activities for the company''''s manufacturing operations, reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain Management, and collaborating closely with the VP of Operations, key stakeholders, and vendors. The Director will manage the entire procurement lifecycle, shape and execute sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management strategies, and ensure quality, cost efficiency, and supply continuity. As a visionary leader, the Director will drive the development of procurement processes, cultivate a high-performance team, and align procurement strategies with organizational goals. The role also emphasizes fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, building supplier relationships, and enhancing employee capabilities. Key Deliverables: Lead all strategic sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management efforts to support manufacturing Develop a multiyear procurement strategy aligned with company objectives in collaboration with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data analysts Ensure a continuous supply of raw materials and packaging to meet production and strategic goals Manage the end-to-end process of purchasing, including negotiation of contracts, pricing, and supplier performance management Spearhead procurement strategies for high-quality, cost-effective, and timely sourcing while maintaining strong supplier relationships Oversee the procurement of materials, from supplier selection and order placement to delivery and inventory control Implement key performance metrics and process improvements to enhance purchasing efficiency, reduce costs, and improve inventory effectiveness Skills, Experience, and Education Required: Candidates must have demonstrated food manufacturing and ingredient sourcing experience Proven expertise in procurement and vendor management, with the ability to drive cost-saving initiatives and improve supply chain performance A minimum of 7+ years of experience in supply chain management and procurement Strong negotiation skills and the ability to maintain positive supplier relationships Experience with inventory management systems and purchasing software (e.g., QuickBooks) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners Strong analytical abilities, capable of interpreting data to make informed decisions Bachelors degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Professional certifications in Procurement or Supply Chain Management are a plus An excellent total compensation and rewards program accompanies this great opportunity.
