YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST: Oversee all occupational and non-occupational injury/illness claims, advising on accommodations and modifications; communicate claim status updates to relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with Health and Safety for accurate and timely WSIB/WCB claim submissions and compliance including the develop and monitoring of return-to-work (RTW) and accommodation plans. Advise on various people management issues, including performance and training. Include the Director of Human Resources on significant employee issues, including workplace conflicts. Support recruitment efforts and review employment offers when necessary. Anticipate legislative changes affecting HR policies; recommend and rewrite policies to include changes. Assist in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization. Support both management and staff to ensure positive employee relations. WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR IN A SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST: Degree or Certificate in Human Resources Management or relevant education and experience. Minimum 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with 3-5 years exposure to health & safety or disability management. In-depth knowledge of provincial workers'''' compensation legislation.
