Position Summary The Account Manager / Consultant, Group Retirement is responsible for overseeing, providing advice on, and delivering group retirement solutions to our clients and prospective clients, ensuring solutions align with client strategy, objectives, and internal quality standards. This position is also responsible for building long-term relationships with clients to contribute to the success of Waypoint Benefits & Financial Services (WBFS). Key deliverables include: Key Duties and Responsibilities Manage and track group retirement clients annual workflows including annual reviews, marketings, and education seminar schedules to ensure timely delivery of all necessary materials. Manage the implementation process when new group retirement clients are joining WBFS. Work with plan members on a one-on-one basis to provide investment and planning advice. Maintain close working relationships with insurance partners. Initiate problem solving and negotiate when necessary. Work with VP, Group Retirement Services on developing service strategies for existing group retirement clients such as annual plan reviews, stewardship reports and compliance strategies. Work with VP, Group Retirement Services on marketing activities related to current plan offerings; work with client groups to find ways to leverage plans for their employees, and market efficiencies and cost-effective opportunities. Facilitate education sessions on plan offerings and financial literacy to current client groups; prepare presentations and customize according to each client groups plans. Complete processes to ensure the fulfillment of all regulatory and compliance requirements for the Group Retirement team. Liaise with both internal departments (e.g. Group Benefits, Life and Individual Retirement and Investments) and external carriers and clients as it relates to day-to-day responsibilities. Provide backup for other team members during absences. Must have a valid drivers license and ongoing access to a vehicle. Travel to in-person client meetings as required. Identify and communicate cross-selling opportunities and makes introductions to Navacord partners where applicable. Actively foster WBFSs respected reputation and brand with every client interaction. Collaborate within the WBFS team to formulate and implement client centric strategies to deepen client relations and deliver first-class client experience. Act as an ambassador for WBFS at industry events/online forums/social media and applicable networking events. Conduct market research on prospects and remain current on all information pertaining to them. Continue with professional development to enhance your skills and abilities. Maintain current information in all systems and complete ongoing reporting (sales pipeline, expenses, etc.) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships (clients, internal, insurance carriers and business community) Ability to positively influence and negotiate with others to achieve results balancing the interests of the client and WBFS Self-motivated and works well independently as well as within a collaborative team Excellent attention to detail with strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication (written and oral), and ability to present to a wide variety of audiences from different backgrounds Working knowledge of the regulatory requirements affecting DC and DB retirement plans Strong time management and project management skills Advanced working knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), specifically in transferring data to meaningful client exhibits; proficient in other technology tools/platforms (CRMs, etc.); adapts and quickly learns new technologies A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for occasional client meetings Strong marketing skills and ability to use Social Media as a marketing tool is an asset Training, Education and Experience Minimum 5-7 years experience in a similar role in the investment industry with a strong knowledge of the group retirement market including applicable legislation Completion of a diploma or degree in business, accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Proven experience in sales (an asset), and success in the design & management of group retirement programs gained in a consulting, brokerage or carrier environment LLQP/Life Licensed in the Provinces of BC & AB (or willingness to become licensed within the first 90 days is required). Certified Financial Planner designation is an asset Critical Success Factors Highly developed customer service skills with a focus on creating long- term client relationships. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on the candidate''s skills, experience, and value added to the WBFS team.
