Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians. Position Overview: The Estimator Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and coordination of estimates for this infrastructure project. This includes analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. The ideal candidate will manage a team of estimators and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all bids submitted. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the preparation of detailed cost estimates for the project, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to accurately estimate project scope and cost. Lead a team of estimators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality output. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify project details. Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database for use in current and future estimates. Analyze project requirements and develop strategies to improve estimating processes and efficiency. Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client requirements. Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns to senior management and clients. Identify and evaluate potential risks and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. Support the bidding and negotiation process, including evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and methods to ensure accurate and competitive estimates. Education and qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on large-scale projects. Right to work in Canada. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices. Proven experience in managing a team of estimators. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high attention to detail. Proficiency in estimating software and tools. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
