RESPONSIBILITIES : Manages and directs activities pertaining to grocery staff including hiring, coaching, training and disciplining Ensures and undertakes proper ordering, shelf stocking, building of displays, pricing, product rotation and inventory control Ensures department is ready for business at all times Implements and ensures adherence to Customer Service Policy Ensures adherence to Company policies and procedures and government regulations concerning health & safety, sanitation, security, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Director REQUIREMENTS : Community college graduate or equivalent combination of education, training and experience Minimum 3 years' directly related management experience with extensive product knowledge, government regulations, ordering, merchandising, inventory taking and gross profit analysis Customer service driven and highly organized Strong supervisory skills with the ability to train and motivate staff Proven leadership abilities with strong communication skills Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours; of bending, twisting and turning and reaching; and of lifting up to 55 lbs. Available to work 40 hours per week, up to 3 evenings per week, 5 shifts [minimum 4 hours, maximum 10 hours], Saturday and Sunday are part of the regular work week [i.e. required to work every Sunday - may request two consecutive days-off during the week every other week] The responsibilities and relationships assigned to this role may change as necessary to achieve Metro's business objectives.
