Security Guard (Concierge) - Calgary, AB - 45K-50K (+benefits package & RRSP contribution) Primary Duties From a central Security control room. Monitoring and operation of access control /security systems, duress alarms, CCTV systems, building fire alarm systems, intercom systems and elevator system. Be familiar with and perform the necessary response for all systems both in Calgary and at remote locations. Be familiar with programming and production of access cards for Tenants, Visitors and Contractors. Fixing/correcting any access card problems that may arise. Train team members on access card systems, control room operations, Fire control room procedures and patrols. Carry out and ensure completion of assigned security patrols of a class-A commercial office building, responding to security and other occurrences. Reporting on these matters by maintaining personal notes, a daily security occurrences log, and completing online security reports. Provide investigation support when requested. Ensure completion and accuracy of team logs and checks. Ensure team deportment is acceptable. Filing of daily/nightly forms. Draft and submit service requests to appropriate parties when required. Limited conflict resolution role, refer more serious conflicts to Security Supervisor. Advise local police authorities of any criminal activity that may occur in relation to the property or it''s facilities. Assist Fire department in any incidents of fire and act as first responder to any medical emergency within the property. Emergency Spill Response. Ensure adherence to property and company safety standards by team members, contractors, and employees. Take on the responsibilities of the Team Leader in the event of that persons absence. Security Department Management may direct other duties as required. Secondary Duties Meet and greet building tenants and subtenant guests and clients and issue access cards. Utilize client access system as well as make appropriate phone calls to assist Tower visitors. Serve as lobby security. Provide strong customer service skills and attitude. Interface with Conference Coordinator in accessing meeting attendees to the Conference Centre. Interface with building reception and mailroom service provider. Interface with the Dock Master and building security personnel. Provide crowd control during emergencies or emergency drills. Position Requirements Ability to work in a team environment as a team player taking direction from a Team Leader. Ability to work with the public in a competent and professional manner. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Education Grade 12 or five years security related experience. Qualified in Standard First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain qualification within six weeks of employment. Must hold a current Alberta Security Services License as required under the Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act. CPO designation (Certified Protection Officer) or willing to obtain. Perform duties Monday to Friday 7:00-16:00 with the ability to work on a rotating shift basis, 24 x 7, including all statutory holidays if required.
