Job Title: Rotating Equipment EngineerThis position requires an individual who proactively and independently provides the engineering and technical assurance support required to the construction execution team for quality installation as per basis for design, as well as the operational readiness team to ensure a flawless commissioning and start-up (CSU) and handover.This role is part of a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project, and the Operations Integration Team will hand over the facilities to the Production Unit after successful start-up of the facilities (capture, pipeline, wells).Accountabilities: Provide technical and non-technical support required to implement and integrate with site work processes (MTO, MAC, HEMP, and SEAM standards). Own care strategies for equipment associated with accountable discipline, including supporting RCM assurance. Build and maintain strong relationships and communication with the Construction and CSU/OR Team core members and peers to provide direction regarding risks and opportunities associated with managing rotating equipment to ensure long-term reliability. Determine intervals for rotating equipment overhauls and inspections to support maintenance and inspection plans. Provide work lists and repair scopes for rotating equipment to support turnaround planning and execution. Support CSU/OR specialists with the development of repair procedures for critical equipment, capital spares, and unique equipment. Maintain contacts with original equipment manufacturers, vendors, and service providers for major and critical equipment. Develop and maintain condition-monitoring programs for plant critical equipment. Contribute to and review new operating procedures and procedural changes specific to rotating equipment. Monitor rotating equipment operation to evaluate pump, compressor, and skid performance evaluations. Provide general rotating equipment engineering support to the CSU/OR organization. Review new installations and modifications through the construction change process. Provide engineering support in rotating equipment specification, design reviews, and equipment selection on an as-needed basis. Develop and maintain relationships with on- and off-site subject matter experts in rotating equipment. Develop a comprehensive list of lessons learned during construction and CSU phases. Strong no change mindset is required as much of the design work is complete. Minimal travel required for training, meetings, machinery shop performance testing, and module yard. Additional hours may be required during the construction phase, dictated by execution schedule and needs. Additional hours will be required during the CSU phase of the project.Additional Requirements: Must hold or be eligible for accreditation with APEGA in either a Professional Engineering or Professional Licensee capacity. Minimum 5 years of professional experience at upgrading or manufacturing sites, with a background in discipline engineering. CSU experience is an asset. Knowledge/Skill Level competency of rotating equipment engineering principles (pumps, compressors, turbines) with the ability to work towards TA3 certification. Knowledge of compressor and pump performance and health monitoring tools (PI, Bentley Nevada, CSI, oil analysis). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead through influence. Good presentation and technical writing skills. Demonstrates and shares professional expertise with other roles and disciplines.
