Toronto's new Ontario Line subway is now under construction. The Connect 6ix consortium has a key role in this project, delivering the trains, the signaling system, and the operations, storage, and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate the Ontario Line for a 30-year term once it comes into service.Position SummaryThe MEP Design Coordinator is responsible for managing and delivering the Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) design Scope of Works (SoW) for the Ontario Line project. Responsibilities include working closely with the Design Manager and other stakeholders to develop and deliver MEP designs, implementing design assurance processes, and tracking design progress. The position also requires coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and safety standards. Additionally, the role involves managing project documentation and supporting internal and external audits.Role and General ResponsibilitiesTo support the CJV Connect 6ix design team in managing and delivering its Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) design Scope of Works (SoW) for the Ontario Line (OL) project, as per Connect 6ix design and design quality management plans.Work closely with the Design Manager, interface, Project Controls, RAMS & Safety, Designers and Contracting Authority to develop and deliver the MEP CJV design and support implement design assurance processes, work plans, and reports for the delivery of the MEP design.Tracking and monitoring the MEP designers schedule, design changes, and design development records during the different stages of the design development process; coordinating and supporting the completion of the CJV Connect 6ix Monthly Progress Reports.Support the Design Manager to coordinate the different CJV design registers, by regular updates of related logs to track all documents and keep the right record of design progress as per Connect 6ix design assurance processes. Support the Design Manager with the program and project document management system and retrieve project documentation communicated between the different CJV Connect 6ix teams. Coordinating, scheduling and participating in meetings with MEP CJV designers, Contracting Authority, external stakeholders and project team; preparing and distributing meeting materials and minutes; tracking and following up on meeting action items as required ensuring that all actions are completed. To review the Connect 6ix design deliverables submitted 6ix by all the different designers involved in the delivery of Connect 6ixs SoW, and ensure designs are compliant with Connect 6ix contractual obligations and internal management plans. To ensure all MEP design deliverables and documentation is compliant with the CJV Connect 6ix Contractual obligations, including technical requirements, safety requirements, applicable standards, and CJV Connect 6ix format; To organize, control and follow up processes to have all deliverables timely issued by the different stakeholders.To attend/ manage design-related meetings, including Discipline reviews, HAZID / HAZOP meetings, meetings with different OL project stakeholders, etc.Ensure readiness and provide support to organize all internal/external audits required (PR, Third parties, Partners).Qualifications and educationAt least 7 years of experience in the design and/or delivery of Mechanical and electrical systems within multidisciplinary teams. Preference for railway knowledge including but not limited to depots, stations, civil works and rail systemsGood understanding of design and delivery assurance processes.
