We are seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist for our client in the healthcare industry, on a permanent basis. The successful incumbent will be responsible for shaping and maintaining the Total Rewards program. This role provides subject matter expertise in compensation, benefits, and HRIS management, ensuring equitable and competitive compensation structures while optimizing HR systems. Roles and Responsibilities Total Rewards Act as a SME for Total Rewards programs, providing expert guidance and recommendations. Lead and support complex Total Rewards projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Develop, review, and update policies related to compensation, benefits, and HR systems. Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Conduct cost-benefit analysis to support management decision-making. Compensation Oversee the full-cycle annual salary increase process for various employee groups, including market analysis, eligibility determinations, data validation, and implementation. Conduct market benchmarking and analysis to ensure the hospital remains competitive. Evaluate jobs, conduct salary assessments, and provide recommendations on pay structures. Maintain salary grids and ensure alignment with recruitment and workforce planning. Resolve compensation-related issues and discrepancies in collaboration with HR and leadership. Benefits & Pension Partner with external benefits consultants to assess utilization trends and recommend cost-containment strategies. Support annual insurance renewals and provide insights into benefits program enhancements. Stay up to date with legislative changes and ensure compliance with benefits and pension programs. Assist employees and managers with benefits-related inquiries. HRIS & Analytics Manage HRIS processes, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. Develop reports and dashboards to support total rewards decision-making. Conduct HR analytics, including trend analysis, forecasting, and cost modeling. Lead system testing, implementation, and maintenance of HRIS platforms such as Meditech. Support data audits and collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistency and compliance. Qualifications and Skills 5+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, and HRIS roles. Strong expertise in job evaluation, salary structure design, and market analysis. HRIS experience with Meditech or similar systems. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, or HRIS reporting). Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and consulting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Education Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Nice-to-Haves Experience working in unionized environments is a strong asset.
