Position Overview: As our Communications Specialist, you will be the voice of Project Forestcrafting powerful stories, inspiring action, and connecting people to the transformative work we do. Key Responsibilities: Create compelling content that tells the story of our rewilding projects, partnerships, and impact. Develop and manage content for Project Forests website, social media channels, newsletters, and marketing materials. Inspire and engage our community through authentic storytelling and creative campaigns. Coordinate public relations efforts, including press releases, media outreach, and interviews. Foster relationships with media, influencers, and environmental advocates. Amplify Indigenous voices and perspectives in our communications, ensuring their contributions and stories are highlighted. Monitor analytics and engagement metrics to optimize content strategies. Collaborate with internal teams and partners to ensure cohesive messaging. Support fundraising and donor communication initiatives with heartfelt, persuasive messaging. What Were Looking For: A deep passion for environmental conservation and a strong belief in the power of nature. Respect for and commitment to working alongside Indigenous communities and sharing their stories with authenticity and care. Exceptional writing and storytelling skills that captivate, educate, and inspire action. Proven experience in communications, marketing, content creation, or public relations. Creativity, curiosity, and the ability to think outside the box. Strong understanding of social media management and engagement strategies. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Love of the outdoors Passion for the environment and Project Forests mission Website (word press) maintenance experience Photography and video skills are a plus Diploma or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Fundraising, English, Environmental Sciences, Conservation, Indigenous Studies or a related discipline Experience working with First Nations Our love of trees is simple.
