Maintenance Supervisor Barrie, ON Reference No. Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 3:30 11:00 pm Non-unionized position. Overtime over 44 hours Meridia recruitment has partnered with Moore Packaging in the recruitment of two maintenance supervisors for their packaging operations in Barrie. The successful candidate will have supervisor or lead experience managing team members and assigning work and will have an electrical or millwright background. Education: Electrician or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A Health & Safety Awareness and WHIMIS Training First Aid/CPR Training Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably from a corrugated, packaging, textile or paper industry Minimum 3 years supervisory experience including scheduling work assignments in a unionized environment 1-2 years working in an order-based manufacturing environment Key Responsibilities: Working hands-on, lead and support the Maintenance team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all equipment Support in establishing, maintaining and improving the maintenance planning and scheduling process Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair/preventative/predictive/design-out activities on plant equipment Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work Assist with developing applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database Plan larger repairs and organize crew and all necessary items needed to perform and complete assigned work. Organize outside contractors as required. Participation on behalf of management in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and initiatives as needed. Coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions, constraints and pressure. Demonstrate professionalism and maintain composure under pressure in a constantly changing environment Read precision measurement equipment and implement any corrective measures. Effectively manage projects and complete them in a timely and cost-effective manner Competent in root cause failure analysis, leadership and investigations Coach and mentor to the team, motivating staff to acheive the overall goals and objectives of the company including occupational health and safety, quality, service and productivity goals Strong communication, organizational, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Office and Powerpoint) to effectively communicate Other duties as assigned.
