TerraWest Environmental Inc. Nanaimo TerraWest is searching for an ambitious and growth-minded Environmental Project Manager to join our team in the Nanaimo office. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key leadership role in shaping the future of our environmental consulting services. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will take on a pivotal leadership role in delivering high-quality environmental consulting services. You will oversee and manage a variety of projects with technical precision, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining strong client relationships. Your primary responsibilities include: Leading and managing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) with attention to detail and regulatory requirements. Conducting and overseeing Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs) and Detailed Site Investigations (DSIs) . Developing, managing, and monitoring project budgets , ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints. Managing hazardous materials investigations , including asbestos, lead, and mould assessments. Designing and implementing effective environmental remediation plans , overseeing remediation projects to ensure they meet client and regulatory standards. Providing expertise in preparing and securing regulatory permits, instruments, and approvals , including liaison with relevant agencies. Fostering strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to build trust and ensure successful project delivery. Mentoring and supporting junior staff to promote professional growth and maintain high standards across the team. Qualifications Education and Membership: A Diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field. Active membership or eligibility for membership with a recognized professional organization is required (AScT, P.Eng., P.Geo., R.P.Bio., P.Chem., P.Ag., or equivalent). Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, including at least 3 years in BC. Direct expertise in contaminated site assessments and remediation is essential. Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills, including budget and schedule management, with a track record of delivering successful projects. Versatility and Attitude: Maintaining a positive team-oriented attitude and a willingness to take on diverse job requirements. Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and programs. Communication: A professional demeanor and excellent written and verbal communication skills Physical Fitness: Physically fit and capable of performing fieldwork. Transportation: Ready access to a vehicle and a clean Class 5 drivers license. Travel Flexibility: Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to project locations. Compensation and Benefits: Hourly wage range $35 $41/hr, total compensation commensurate with experience. Health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family. RRSP matching (4%).
