Job Description

Our client, a unionized not for profit firm located midtown Toronto, is currently searching for a Risk and Compliance Specialist to join their team. This full-time, direct hire maternity leave contract position offers the selected candidate a busy, dynamic working environment, a 4-day work week (Monday to Thursday flex for as needed support Friday), an office location a short walk from a TTC subway station and the opportunity to wear various hats in this versatile role. Some of the responsibilities for the Risk and Compliance Specialist job opening in Toronto, ON may include but are not limited to: Acting as the Deputy Corporate Secretary such as: Supporting the Board with scheduling and calendaring of quarterly meetings, reporting and communications; this includes participating in the coordination of the meetings, attending the meetings and meeting minutes Corporate Office Management such as: Managing and ensuring support for the receptionist/front desk team. Vendor and third party supplier relationship management Invoice approvals, expense reporting Risk and Compliance such as: Supports the CCO/CRO with investigations, tracking and reporting of incidents Conduct risk assessments Ensuring risk adverse and compliant to requirements and protocols Liaise with internal/external stakeholders Review due diligence reporting and ensuring timely follow through Preparation/organization of file correspondence/emailing/filing/reporting Various administrative functions such as records maintenance and such Requirements for this Risk and Compliance Specialist job opening in Toronto, ON include but also, not limited to: At least 3-5 years experience in a related role; risk, compliance, legal Successful completion of post-secondary education; Diploma or Degree; AML or Risk Certification an asset Exceptional English communication skills; both written and spoken Strengths in drafting corporate memos, emails and communications Legal documents experience; insurance documents experience a strong asset Exceptional eye for detail, extremely well organized, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Driven, confident, flexible Strong technical abilities in MS Office, Teams, Zoom Our client is motivated to bring someone aboard TODAY as this is for a maternity leave contract that is available immediately. Our client is looking at an annualized salary around $55K and some benefits are included; estimated timeline of commitment is until early January 2026.
