With your transformational experience in leadership, fostering continuous improvement and building a strong Laboratory culture, you will manage a team of two scientific supervisors and three managers. As the Senior Laboratory Manager, Inorganics, you will oversee departmental functions, including forecasting, budgeting, financial controls, and approvals, ensuring operational excellence, team engagement & optimal performance.You will also develop business plans to drive growth, enhance visibility, and improve profitability. By assessing and optimizing lab services and procedures, you will streamline operations, increase sample throughput, and ensure the production of high-quality, defensible datadelivered safely and on time. Your leadership will play a critical role in advancing our market share & operational efficiency.Who you areYou are looking for a chance to move into a Senior Laboratory Manager role. You will develop strategic business plans that increase our profile in the region and focus on sustainable growth. You will assess and approve requests or recommend resource planning, e.g., the need for additional staff or equipment. You will recommend capital expenditures required within the department and provide feedback during the budgeting process. You will approve improvements regarding process efficiency.Manage lab productivity. You will assess feasibility of Kaizen projects, and meet both deadlines and customer expectations. You will verify the optimization and calibration of analytical instruments. You will ensure production of high quality, defensible data, safely, and on time. You will ensure that employees are following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work to reduce non-conformance. You will uphold ethical standards at all times.What you bring:The expertise. You have a B.Sc. degree or a technical diploma in a science-related field. You have extensive experience in a production lab setting and demonstrated success in the role of Laboratory Manager, directing workflow. You have strengths in continuous improvement, process improvement, and lab operations.The people management. You have a proven ability to transform a team by fostering a collaborative environment, and apply good judgment in the resolution of employee relations issues. You have excellent team building, training, coaching and mentoring skills. You have a high emotional intelligence quotient, combined with a one team mindset. You know how to inspire your team to engage with their deliverables and deliver quality results. You believe in leading by example and encouraging active and ongoing learning. You have experience guiding a team through change management and adoption of new processes and procedures.The leadership skills. You have demonstrated experience managing and delivering long- and short-term projects. You have excellent organization, time-management, and task-management skills. You take an agile approach to your work, balancing competing priorities, meeting tight timelines, managing the work of your team at a high level, and pivoting to meet changing needs. You have the business acumen and experience-based insights to actively contribute to strategic projects; and the financial knowledge to balance and optimize budgets. You are highly strategic and innovative, able to research, design, and implement best practices, procedures and policies.The technical skills. You are up-to-date knowledge of laboratory practices, techniques, processes and automation. You are proficient with MS Office Suite and a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and you can learn new tools and technologies quickly.The interpersonal skills. You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You can build trusting and influential relationships with your team, colleagues, leaders, and customers.
