THE OPPORTUNITYWe have an excellent opportunity for a tenacious Director of Sales, Western Canada leader with experience in freight, parcel, warehousing and/or logistics to join a leading transportation and logistics company based in Calgary or Edmonton. Reporting into the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Commercial, the Director of Sales, Western Canada will be responsible for leading and managing the Western Canada sales team to ensure revenue targets and growth targets are met while continuing to develop and coach the sales team. This role is perfect for a dynamic and visionary leader who can motivate, drive, and inspire their team to exceptional heights. The ideal candidate will be a driver, possess strong leadership abilities, and have a demonstrative track record of coaching salespeople to achieve their sales targets. Director of Sales, Western Canada will have approximately seven (7) direct reports, including administration and sales executives across Western Canada. For more information, please visit us at with potential clients and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships with sales representatives.Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.Assist in creating strategies and plans for accounts and new business opportunities.Recruit, set objectives, coach and monitor performance of sales representatives.Develop sales team through coaching, motivation and service/organizational knowledge and education.Conduct regular weekly one-on-ones with Sales Representatives.Ensure the organizations expectations/KPIs are clearly communicated with each Sales Representative.Review and approve expense reports and requisitions.Help Sales Representative identify verticals/opportunities to successfully target and prospect.Review and analyze weekly Sales Representative budgets vs individual pipelinesMeasure monthly Sales Representative performance.Work closely and collaborate with various departments of the organization to ensure all customer requirements are in place.Monitor market conditions and competition services/offerings, etc.Conduct yearly performance reviews of the Sales Team.Ensure and reinforce CRM compliance.QUALIFICATIONSBachelors or college degree in business, sales, or marketing.5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role in sales management, marketing, or public relations representative in a corporate sales department role.Valid drivers license.Willingness to travel.
