Senior Director of FinanceVaughan, ONThe Company: Our client is a leader in their category and rapidly expanding in the Consumer Goods sector. They are growing their customer base and market share across Canada and USA, by executing a strong road map through innovation and new product commercialization. The Opportunity: The Senior Director of Finance will lead Accounting & Finance responsibilities, as well as some FP&A, budgeting, and planning duties. Experience with Supply Chain & Operations Finance would be an asset as well as Inventory Management and Treasury. Strong team leadership, and people management skills will be critical. Responsible for accounting operations and overseeing the Costing, Financial Accounting, and general finance duties for the business. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Manage and accurate and timely month-end close and reporting process including providing oversight and guidance to finance team as well as specific oversight over accounts that are complex or have significant estimates or judgements Develop, prepare and distribute the monthly management reporting package inclusive of in-depth variance analysis and comments on the implications of performance trends Deliver timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders, in accordance with business requirements Champion best practices and adherence to the Companys Internal Control Framework Align with stakeholders and leadership team to develop and implement key metric reporting dashboards Manage annual audit requirements, as required Prepare and manage the annual budget process in accordance with Company timelines, including the consolidation of information, review of inputs and assumptions Develop and present monthly budget to actual/forecast meeting with Senior Leadership team Guide the business to achieving budget objectives by monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions Responsible for preparing and maintaining for the rolling income and cashflow forecast while ensuring the consideration and inclusion of up-to-date information from business stakeholders Partner with Commercial and Operations departments to ensure consistency and accuracy in all operational reporting and analysis as well as the development of analytical tools to aid functional performance Contribute to and attend operational meetings focused on process governance, identifying areas of improvement and optimization Manage the Companys Risk and Opportunities process including the identification and aggregation of information and assessing the ongoing impact on the business forecast Identify financial risk areas and recommend financial risk mitigation opportunities or actions Support annual insurance renewal process Maintain the Companys key internal controls matrix including evaluating the ongoing alignment with business processes Ensure the adherence to internal controls and finance policies. Identify and address internal control weaknesses, as necessary. Drive process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and provide value-add services to internal stakeholders Act as a partner to internal stakeholders by staying informed on business needs and supporting ad hoc analysis Manage financial processes for optimization of working capital management through ongoing engagement with cross-functional leaders Evaluate and foreign exchange requirements and exposures Contribute to capital reporting process by managing capital reporting obligations Prepare support required for the Companys income tax filings Oversee the filing of Commodity tax and ad hoc reporting Responsible for overall Finance team development through regular feedback and periodic performance reviews. Through mentorship, contribute to developing a Finance Centre of excellence through training, development, and focus on outputs. Oversees processes related to ERP Finance module Support ERP enhancement initiatives Considers quality in all aspects of the job and respects effective procedures and normsIdeal Qualifications and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Commerce CMA/CA/CPA Professional Accounting Designation and minimum of 10+ years progressive experience Robust understanding of Canadian GAAP, budgeting, treasury matters and internal controls Demonstrated, independent Controllership experience in a manufacturing environment including operations accounting and product margin analysis Exposure to both multinational corporation and privately owned businesses Demonstrated Leadership, people management and team development skills A lean practitioner who can managed and adapt to change and transformation Comfort rolling up their sleeves and being hands-on as necessary, as well as the ability to delegate to their teams Excellent time management skills (ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines and multiple customer demands) Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and organizational skills Demonstrated business and financial acumen; excellent analytical skills Advanced skills in Excel
