(TSX/NASDAQ: PAAS), one of the worlds largest primary silver producers, including its San Vicente mine located in Bolivia.THE OPPORTUNITYThis exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced Mining Engineer with strong operational expertise, leadership capabilities, and an interest in applying best practices to mining development projects that integrate technical innovation with sustainable development goals.Reporting directly to the CEO, the Mining Engineer will play a critical role in leading technical studies, managing consultants, and ensuring seamless integration of technical studies with in-country community relations and permitting teams. The successful candidate will be a creative thinker, adept at incorporating feedback from diverse stakeholders into revised designs that are both technically and economically robust.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESLead Technical Studies: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of comprehensive technical studies, ensuring they meet project objectives and industry standards.Manage Consultants: Coordinate and supervise external consultants, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables that align with project requirements.Integrate Multidisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with in-country community relations, permitting, and technical teams to align studies with local requirements and feedback.Incorporate Stakeholder Feedback: Revise designs to incorporate input from diverse stakeholders, ensuring solutions are technically, economically, and socially viable.Align with Sustainable Development Goals: Integrate sustainability best practices into the mine development process, emphasizing community well-being.Support Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with permitting teams to integrate technical parameters into applications and ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements.Optimize Designs: Develop and refine mine designs, systems, and facilities to maximize efficiency, safety, and economic performance.Monitor Project Progress: Track the implementation of studies and designs, adjusting strategies as needed to meet evolving project needs and constraints.Support Strategic Decision-Making: Provide technical insights to the CEO and executive team to inform high-level project decisions and long-term planning.QUALIFICATIONSTechnical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mine planning, design, and optimization processes, as well as familiarity with technical and environmental studies.Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage external consultants to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in collaborating with community relations, permitting, and other in-country teams to align technical work with local and regulatory requirements.Problem-Solving: Creative thinker with the ability to incorporate feedback from diverse stakeholders into robust and innovative solutions.Sustainability Focus: Understanding of and commitment to integrating sustainable development goals into mining projects.Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with regulatory compliance processes and the ability to integrate technical parameters into permitting applications.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical insights and project updates to internal and external stakeholders.Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical deliverables with long-term project goals and provide actionable insights to executive leadership.Adaptability: Ability to manage complex projects in dynamic and sometimes challenging environments.Travel: Willing to be based in Vancouver, BC and travel occasionally to Bolivia.EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATIONSUndergraduate education in Mining EngineeringHolds Professional Engineer license and registered with EGBC (or eligible for registration) or working towards the designationMinimum five years of experience in mine design and operations managementExperience in both open pit and underground mining development and operationsKnowledge of NI43-101 standards and various studies required for mine permittingFluent in Spanish or MandarinExperience working in Bolivia, South America, or China would be an assetAPPLY NOWNew Pacific Metals offers competitive remuneration package and growth opportunity within a dynamic environment.
