Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will support an active project. Primary Scope of Role : Participate in both internal and external meetings with the client and team members. Responsible for keeping detail records and follow up on action items. Ensure project is constructed according to design, budget and schedule Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety and quality control Interface with project team, subcontractors and related third parties Monitor and inspects project site to maintain a safe work environment and provides leadership to ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed Coordinate, provide guidance and review the implementation of the work plans with the other team members. Oversee project closeout. Maintain and communicate project information through several forums including project website, phone, and E-mail. Interface with traffic and environmental teams to communicate traffic impacts and environmental consultation. Position Requirements: Post Secondary education is required preferably in Civil or Construction Engineering. A EIT or CET designation is preferred. Previous experience with estimating, quantity take-offs using digital software. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project. Minimum 3 years of project management experience is desired. Experience on road or excavation construction projects is desired. Experience in coordinating construction projects. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and build strong working relationships. Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced environment. Effective decision making and problem solving skills. Effective time management and prioritization skills..
