Job Description

The Conference and Events Sales Coordinator endeavours to procure business for the Resort by exercising external sales, while working with the Resorts existing and historical client base. Responsible for directing and overseeing sales operations to ensure profitability and realization of sales targets, responsibilities of this role include reaching out to customers through emails and phone calls, as well as client visits and on-site meetings.RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategically target business suitable for need periodsDevelop and maintain relationships with key clients, including, but not limited to, corporate and association business, to produce groups, events, and conference businessDisplay exceptional service in relation to guest care and focus strongly on the overall room revenue, occupancy, and catering sales by working closely with the Group Sales and Events DepartmentsPromote the Resort through active involvement with industry associations and trade showsFoster and grow relationships with new business through conducting strategic outside sales calls, effective business trips, cold calls, client visits, networking, and on-site visitsGreat attention to detail when working with client communication, proposals, contracts, event orders, and floor plansManage partnership opportunities and contribute to initiatives that drive community relationshipsCreate awareness of the Resort with FAM groups, meeting/conference planners and other areas of leisure salesMonitor industry trends and make recommendations for strategic growth and changeWork closely with the Marketing, Group Sales and Events Departments on developing tactics and initiatives, across a variety of mediums, to drive interest and revenue to all aspects of the hotel, including (but not limited to) guestrooms, restaurants, and catering facilitiesGather, sort, analyze and present data and sales reportsAnalyze data to improve sales, reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and maximize profitIdentify and survey competitors, collect marketing pricing, and know competitors strengths and weaknessesParticipate in hotel events and seasonal activities to generate opportunitiesContribute content to property social media and online channelsUse PMS, CRM, and other systems and software effectivelyOther responsibilities as assigned, pertaining to your positionREQUIREMENTS:Proficiency with computers, software and web-based programs (PMS/CRM/other systems and software)Previous work experience in sales required with previous experience in meeting/conference/hospitality sales a large assetPrevious hospitality/tourism marketing an assetExperience in writing proposals, contracts, event orders, and floor plansStrong negotiation skillsExperience working with sales software and customer relationship management systemsExcellent verbal and written communication and presentation skillsKnowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Self-motivated and an energetic team-playerPunctual, reliable, flexible, detailed and organizedMinimum of 40 hours per week. Some weeks will require more, some will require less. You will have the freedom to balance those out as required.Willingness to attend educational components when necessaryStrong leadership, communication/delegation, interpersonal and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively as part of a teamAppropriate and professional appearance and presentation
