Today, Inaba is the most popular brand of premium cat and dog dinners and treats in Japan, with our products available throughout the world.Inaba Foods (USA) Inc., is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to oversee and coordinate all sales activities in an assigned region or division.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing grocery chain as well as specialized channels in the pet category.Drive market strategies and brand awareness to increase sales growth and profitability.Close new sales by building rapport with potential accounts and identifying needs for products and services.Work collaboratively with the USA Sales team on new sales opportunities.Negotiate profitable pricing and/or terms of sales.Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.Provide and report sales forecasts, results, and the status of accounts and leads for the region or division.Analyze sales accounts by reviewing current and potential volumes of distributors within the defined area.Manage and train local and regional sales teams.Manage expenses to stay within budgeted guidelines.Keep up-to-date with competition by gathering and researching market trends.Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics, ensuring compliance within the team and representing the company professionally.Perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in a related field.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the pet food industry or consumer packaged goods environment preferred.Mandatory bilingual proficiency in English and French to oversee business development in the Quebec market.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build and maintain business relationships with customers.Aptitude to travel daily or weekly and spend most of the day in a vehicle.Excellent sales and customer service skills, with proven negotiation skills.Must hold an unrestricted drivers license and have a driving record with no more than three (3) violations in the last two (2) years; no more than one (1) at-fault accident in the past three (3) years.Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks.Ability to commute to the office.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Additional Desired Qualifications:Preferred sales experience in the pet industry, either FDM or PS, or both, with at least experience in CPG.Based in Toronto/Mississauga but willing to travel within the market approximately one week per month, as the territory is in the early stages of development.Willingness to travel for major and distributor shows.Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior in the pet food category.Experience with CRM systems for managing sales leads and customer relationships.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement regional sales plans and strategies.Capability to mentor and lead a high-performing sales team.Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.Working Conditions:This position requires frequent travel within the assigned region, including overnight stays as needed.The role involves a combination of office-based and field-based work, visiting clients, attending meetings, and participating in trade shows or industry events.
