Insight Global is looking to hire a Data Engineer for a retail client based in Vancouver. This role is a hybrid position and requires 3 days onsite/week in Downtown Vancouver. You will be joining a team that works heavily with customer data - owning the customer data pipelines that gather data coming from multiple sources and consolidating that data for different use cases. The team has completed the implementation of an analytics tool to gather customer data from the web, and they are now tasked with moving the data from the analytics platform to their internal Snowflake platform. The ideal candidate will possess experience migrating data from a Google stack of GCP/BigQuery to an Azure/Snowflake environment. The successful candidate will be contributing to all areas of development, and operations and participate in day-to-day production releases and on-call support functions as needed. Additional projects include:Creation and maintenance od data pipelines (GCP, Azure Cloud, Azure Databricks, Snowflake)Creation of secure data views and publish them to the Enterprise Data Exchange via SnowflakeModernization and migration of data pipelines using Databricks Delta Tables (DLT) and Unity CatalogAnalysis of Adobe Analytics GA4 analytics dataQualifications:3-5 years of experience with database engineering building out and deploying data pipelines, ideally working with customer dataExperience with Google Analytics (version 4) or Adobe Analytics or any other analytics platform3+ years of experience working with Azure applications (Azure Data Factory, Azure Batch, Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Databricks, etc.) and building out Azure pipelines2+ years of experience working with Azure DatabricksExperience with GCP and BigQueryStrong scripting experience with Python & SQLExperience working in an Agile environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbalPlusses:Retail and/or e-commerce experience; experience working for a multi-channel retailerExperience with Snowflake or any enterprise data warehouse
