About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior IT Support Analyst to be a part of a new plant start-up based in Port Colborne, ON. The primary responsibility of this position is to install, modify and make repairs to hardware and software systems and providing technical assistance and training to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This will include solving incidents reported by users, internal IT colleagues or by system alerts, as well as local or global project work. All incidents and requests to be tracked in ITSM system. You will also be the IT liaison on site to assist with planning and execution of IT needs for this new plant location under construction. You will train and guide future IT support staff at this location. Reporting RelationshipsThis position directly reports to the IT Support Team Manager for North America and does not supervise others. Support remote locations as assigned.Take a lead role in the planning and execution of the IT environment with coordination of International IT management.Prioritize incoming incidents, requests, problems, and tasks to give realistic and reliable dates to requestor.Analyze, monitor, and resolve those incidents, requests, problems, and tasks.Escalate when required to appropriate global group or external vendor/customer.Track all steps through to final resolution in the ITSM system for traceability.Document resolution in knowledge base when relevant.Follow up and confirm provided resolution with requestor. In case of on-site support is needed, business trip to other sites.Accomplish tasks independently and be able to follow complex procedures.Global WorkCo-work with other support members located globally.Work globally in teams to provide/establish global standards.Coordinate local/global IT project tasks with global IT team.Evaluate resolutions and find ways to prevent future issues (root cause analysis).Onboarding and training of new IT Support staff.Coordinate projects.Business LiaisonContinuously looking for improvement in IT-related areas to increase business efficiency.Prepare site notices, user guides and trainings to inform users about IT topics.Act as IT representative on local site by frequent communicating to individuals.IT Asset ManagementFollow local and IT purchase order processes to acquire IT assets.Provide local site IT budget forecast proposal (capital and expense) including monitoring and documentation.QualificationsEducation & Experience Background:Associate degree plus 2+ years experience or -- 4+ years of relevant IT support work experience supporting users with a high school diploma, required.Experience at a manufacturing plant is a plus.Required Knowledge: Working knowledge Microsoft 365 Admin tools required. Intune or mobile device management systems required.Service Now or other ticketing system experience required.Basic problem solving, analytical and logical approaching skills are required.Active Directory experience is a plus.PC imagining experience required.Key Attributes: A team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.Customer service oriented and reliable.Pro-active, self-starting, making it happen, independent, flexible, thrive to find a solution for issues.Japanese or French is nice to have, but not required.Travel: Must be able and willing to travel up to 5% domestically and abroad for training and visiting other company locations.Working EnvironmentThis position will be based in a temporary structure on or near a construction site until the permanent office is built in 2026. The final work environment will be at a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This position is in support of manufacturing and requires working in a production environment around chemicals. The manufacturing facility will be a state of the art in terms of automation and being temperature and humidity controlled. This will be a clean and comfortable environment due to the nature of the products being produced.
