Magnet is helping our client, a Global leader in the Consumer Product space, look for a Key Account Manager to join their team and lead a strategic customer for the organization.This individual will be responsible for leading the company's efforts to maintain and expand the relationship & results with this key National Retailer. Leading the account team, this role is responsible for achieving sales and margin targets in addition to building upon strategic account objectives.Having Loblaw and/or Walmart is preferred but not mandatory for this role.Responsibilities:Account ManagementDirect sales for assigned account(s) as per annual objectives as stated by managementImplement company marketing and other strategies and to ensure to provide timely feedback on key customer meetings and market/competitive issuesLead partnership strategies and meetings with key customersHelp lead annual vendor negotiationsIdentify new business opportunities and develop comprehensive sales plansPropose and manage new product rollouts and transitionsMonitor and provide feedback on competition and any relevant market dataP&L / Finance / MarginMonitor and take appropriate action to achieve the agreed upon sales and margin targets for accountsTake ownership of accounts P&L and meet assigned expectations for profitabilityManage co-op, over and above funds, and rebatesAccount Specific Marketing ActivitiesMaintain strong focus to work closely with Marketing team in development of specific products for assigned accounts as necessary and submit to management for approvalWork closely, coordinate and communicate with all areas of business, marketing, supply chain, customer service, and managementDevelop meaningful relationships with key customers to meet our mutual goals in line with overall strategiesDevelop and maintain line of communication and coordination with marketing and communication teamsMaintain up-to-date details of assigned account advertising/promotional events/calendarsCommunicate market conditions to Sales and Marketing teamResponsible for setting up and tracking account-specific promotional plansQualifications:University Degree or College Diploma required3+ years of CPG Key Account selling experienceProven strategic sales experience on a business to business sales environment, calling on large national accountsExperience selling to National Retail (Loblaw, Costco, Walmart, etc) is a mandatory requirement.Extremely strong analytically, specifically with customer specific data/reportingDrive and ambition to win and achieve resultsPersistence when faced with internal and external adversityStrong project management and cross-functional skills relating to account managementAbility to influence internally and externally using data and insightsStrong communicator
