Reports to: Board of Directors About Amautiit Nunavut Inuit Womens Association Amautiit is a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the rights, well-being, and leadership of Inuit women. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Executive Director to guide our organization to new levels of success. Position Overview The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of Amautiit. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will work to ensure the organizations sustainability, develop strong partnerships, and implement programs and initiatives that advance Nunavut Inuit womens issues. The ED will lead all aspects of organizational management, including administration, fundraising, relationship building, community outreach and grant writing. This position is a two-year contract. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction in the development and implementation of Amautiits strategic goals and programs, ensuring all operations align with Amautiits mission & vision. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficient administration and strong project management. Be responsible for the recruitment and employment of all personnel and contractors, creating a positive workplace environment. Lead grant writing efforts to secure funding and ensure financial sustainability. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, funders, and community organizations. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and communication through frequent meetings. Develop and manage budgets, including monitoring financial performance and ensuring fiscal responsibility. Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, territorial and local regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in non-profit management, with a focus on leadership and organizational development. Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders. Excellent writing and communication skills, with demonstrated experience in grant writing and reporting. Demonstrated success in relationship building, project management, and liaising with government agencies, funders, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of fundraising strategies and relations unique to the non-profit sector. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment, with knowledge of communities, and awareness and sensitivity to northern and Inuit culture. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to lead a team and manage resources effectively. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with issues affecting Inuit women and communities. Experience advocating for gender and human rights in an Indigenous context. Fluency in Inuktut would be an asset. Lived experience.
