Job Description

Global Atlantic is looking for an Associate Actuary to join the Bermuda Actuarial team. This role will be based in our Hamilton, Bermuda office and will be part of the team supporting the Bermuda valuation and reporting process. The Associate Actuary will also act as a liaison between Actuarial Valuation, IT, Risk, and Finance as part of the production valuation process. THIS ROLE IS BASED IN OUR BERMUDA OFFICE, MUST BE OPEN TO RELOCATING TO BERMUDA RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with Bermuda Valuation team to analyze and explain model results for base and sensitivity/stress runs Contributing to the modernization efforts for the production valuation process Participate in the development, maintenance, and review of the Python models Onboarding new reinsurance deals into the production valuation process Executing validation and UAT procedures on new model output Assist with the development of internal controls and documentation for audit and regulatory requests REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 3 to 5 years experience in the (re)insurance industry ASA (or equivalent) actively working toward Fellowship designation, or FSA/equivalent. Life and Annuity experience strongly preferred Coding language experience required (Python preferred) Strong Excel knowledge (Power Query a plus) Strong communication skills Actuarial modeling software experience a plus (MG ALFA preferred) Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Is persistent when developing a solution to a problem Balances the dichotomy between working with a high-caliber team and individual production Takes ownership of their responsibilities #LI-KS1 Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. Global Atlantics base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantics total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.
