This position emphasizes mentorship, streamlined workflows, and alignment with organizational values to enhance team efficiency and compliance. As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organization, the Payroll Analyst will contribute to an engaging and supportive work environment.Reports to: Director of Accounting and Financial ReportingRESPONSIBILITIESProcess Improvement and Creation:Analyze and evaluate current payroll processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.Design and implement streamlined workflows to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.Research and recommend emerging payroll technologies and best practices.Leadership & Collaboration:Serve as a leader and mentor within the payroll team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.Provide training and support on payroll systems, procedures, and best practices.Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related challenges.Work with payroll service providers to resolve issues and implement solutions. Partner with HR to maintain accurate employee records in Dayforce.Payroll Processing:Administer end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple entities. Process new hires, separations, and payroll adjustments, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local payroll laws and regulations.Benefits Administration:Manage and reconcile benefits, pension enrollments, and remittances for RPP, RRSP, and other plans.
