We constantly strive to provide on-site performance, prioritizing safety, optimum planning, and coordination.Job PurposeThe Assistant Site Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Senior Site Supervisor in overseeing and managing the daily operations on construction sites. This position ensures that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with budget and timeline constraints. The Assistant Site Supervisor acts as a key liaison between the project manager and the on-site team, assisting with providing guidance, direction, and supervision to workers while ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities on the construction site to ensure smooth project execution.Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site workers to ensure that tasks are completed on schedule and aligned with project objectives.Track and update project timelines and key milestones, ensuring deadlines are met, and any potential delays are addressed.Communicate progress, delays, or any on-site issues to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager promptly and effectively.Perform regular inspections to verify that all work completed on-site adheres to established quality standards and meets project specifications.Identify deficiencies or issues and work closely with the relevant teams to resolve them efficiently.Ensure all workers comply with health and safety regulations, including the use of appropriate protective equipment.Conduct safety checks and promptly address potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment.Monitor inventory levels of materials and tools to ensure availability and avoid shortages.Coordinate the timely delivery, proper storage, and utilization of materials and equipment to maintain project continuity.Maintain accurate and up-to-date site logs, record daily activities, incidents, and completed work.Assist with preparing detailed reports for project managers or clients, ensuring all relevant data is included. Supervise on-site workers, ensuring adherence to the project plan, instructions, and safety standards.Relay clear instructions from the Site Supervisor to workers and contractors, ensuring effective communication and task execution.Working ConditionsSite Trailer/fieldwork in a fast-paced environment with variable working hours depending on project requirements.Asst. Site Supervisors are exposed to various weather conditions, noise, dust, and other potential hazards. They are expected to follow safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.Depending on each project's scope, the Asst. Site Supervisor will be required to travel to different project sites or attend meetings with stakeholders in various locations.May face pressure to meet milestones, resolve issues, and ensure project progress within the allocated timeframe.Qualifications & SkillsMinimum of three years in the Canadian construction field, preferably in new builds. A background in engineering or trades is highly advantageous.Strong organizational skills are necessary to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet project deadlines. Attention to detail and the ability to pinpoint subcontractors' workmanship and finished quality.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for effective coordination and collaboration with project stakeholders, team members, and contractors. The ability to convey information, listen actively, and resolve conflicts diplomatically.Ability to analyze information and problems, identify viable solutions, and make timely decisions.
