Job Description

On behalf of our client, Taylor McCaffrey LLP, we are looking for a Senior Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for managing all payroll cycles, partner payments, and the administration of employee benefits. Working collaboratively as part of the Human Resources team, the Senior Payroll and Benefits Coordinator supports the implementation of key HR initiatives.As the Senior Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, you will:Process all payroll cycles, including bi-weekly, monthly, and ad hoc payrolls, while coordinating journal entries with the accounting team.Prepare, verify, and process employee payments such as regular salaries, benefit premiums, bonuses, and vacation payouts.Manage partner earnings payments, including regular draws, benefit payments, and special compensation like commissions and professional dues.Administer, reconcile, and audit the firms benefits programs, including health and dental, life insurance, AD&D, short- and long-term disability, and pension plans.Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, leaves, attendance, overtime, and benefit entitlements.Collaborate with HR to manage disability claims and provide expert guidance on benefit programs.Generate payroll and benefits reports, including employee statistics, T4s, ROEs, year-end documentation, and government remittances.Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll and HR policies and ensure compliance with applicable legislation.Oversee Health & Wellness and staff recognition programs.You and Your Experience:A minimum of 8 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration is required.PCP/CPHR certification is an asset.Proficiency in PayWorks is an asset.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated integrity through a solid work ethic, personal accountability, and ethical behavior.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.Proficiency in payroll and benefits systems and knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation is essential.Benefits of the organization:Competitive Compensation & Benefits packagePositive and professional working environmentOpportunities for professional growth and developmentAbout Taylor McCaffrey LLP:Taylor McCaffrey LLP is one of Manitoba's leading law firms, known for their commitment to excellence in law practice and community contributions.
