Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (We are currently looking for an SEM/SCL Tunnel Surveyor to join our team.-Project: subway/tunnel project-Estimated length: 24 months- with the possibility of being extended. In general, when the project ends, we try to place the candidate in other projects to give him/her continuity.-Summary: the Tunnel Surveyor (SEM) plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) used to construct the project. Being responsible for all surveying activities related to tunnel excavation, lining installation, and maintaining precise data collection. -Responsibilities:Lead and conduct all surveying activities related to the SEM process, including tunnel excavation, lining installation (formwork trolleys, inverts), and cavern support. Oversee the proper use and care of survey equipment, including total stations, multi-stations, and laser scanners. Collaborate closely with the SEM team to excavate caverns accurately, including scanning excavation surfaces, measuring lining thickness, and ensuring proper rock bolt layouts. Maintain quality control by ensuring tunnel lining meets all project specifications and tolerances. Prepare detailed shift reports documenting production data and as-built information. Install and maintain network brackets and control points as instructed by the supervisor to guarantee uninterrupted production. Conduct regular monitoring measurements as mandated by project specifications. Assist other SEM surveyors with their tasks when required. Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and attend all mandatory safety training sessions.- Requirements/Skills:A minimum of 4 years of experience as a SEM/SCL Tunnel Surveyor in tunnel/railway/heavy civil construction projects or similar.Bachelor Degree in Surveying/Civil Engineering or similar.Proven experience working in harsh environments, particularly underground construction, or tunnels. Proficiency in using various survey equipment, including total stations, multi stations, and laser scanners. Excellent knowledge of Leica survey equipment is preferred.Experience working safely around heavy machinery such as road headers and excavators is essential. Strong understanding of the Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) principles. Prior experience assisting with SEM caverns is highly desirable.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced underground environment and adapt to changing work schedules (day or night shifts). Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to upholding project specifications and tolerances. Strong commitment to safety by following all safety procedures and training requirements.- Working Hours: the specified hours will be determined later on in the process.
