ENGINEER, SITE (MECHANICAL)Contract - 12 Months (with a strong possibility of extension)North Vancouver, BCTHE OPPORTUNITY:Our client is looking for an experienced Site Mechanical Engineer to join their team and provide technical expertise for mechanical engineering activities. This role focuses on ensuring construction and maintenance projects meet design specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Collaborating closely with contractors, project managers, and engineering teams, you will help ensure efficient and effective site operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining project quality and compliance, addressing on-site challenges, and driving the seamless progression of engineering projects.YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:Developing and maintaining engineering standards and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.Reviewing and assisting in the development of engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for projects.Conducting reliability assessments, identifying risks, and implementing strategies to improve equipment performance.Overseeing site activities to ensure alignment with designs, specifications, and safety standards.Providing technical guidance to contractors, project managers, and site personnel.Performing site inspections to verify compliance with design and quality standards.Resolving technical issues to maintain project timelines and quality requirements.Monitoring project progress, addressing delays, and implementing corrective actions.Ensuring engineering activities are complying with safety policies and regulatory requirements.Supporting quality assurance processes, including material testing and inspections.Documenting site activities, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.Collaborating on integrating engineering solutions to enhance site efficiency and safety.Participating in project meetings, providing updates, and addressing challenges.Assisting with commissioning and handover of completed projects, ensuring proper documentation.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC.10+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in material bulk loading/unloading in waterfront, mining, heavy industry, or similar settings.Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and industry standards.Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, or other design and project management tools.Excellent problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges efficiently.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with contractors, project teams, and stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards of quality and safety.Capable of working independently and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.COMPENSATION: $90/hr to $115/hr
