Job Description

Role Overview:The Director of Operations oversees all aspects of Momentum Freight (MF) operations. They develop strategies and assign work priorities to the Freight Operations team (CSRs/LCs) for but not limited to FTL/LTL, drayage, containers (FCL), flatbeds, specialized, dangerous goods projects, warehousing, ocean freight both import and export, consolidated air cargo. The Director of Operations is responsible for customer satisfactions and to ensure all operations KPIs are met.Leadership Requirements:Conflict Resolution, Communication and Performance ManagementMentoring and DevelopmentStrategic vision and implementationCompliance and EfficiencyFinancial Acumen/P&L/Budgets/PlanningKey Responsibilities:Monitor CSR/LC updates of the Momentum Freight dashboard and work orders.Provides, upon request, quality control oversight and compliance for the MF dashboard.Providing updates and forecasts using the MF dashboard for container and cargo scheduling aligned to client needs and carrier capabilities.Manages daily operations involving MF clients and assigned carriers in support of the CSR.Provides inputs to after-action reports, process improvements.Quotes receives and provide quotes to existing and new customers.Accounting monitor billing and invoices.Oversee charges and subcontractor invoices.Assist the accounting department in reaching out to customers who are late in payment.Able to fulfil/ delegate CSR absence.Analytical Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify a solution.Identify and procure providers to be added to our CRM based on QA.Maintain strong Vendor relationship.Assist in project management for local/international freight.Develop best possible routes and solutions.Qualifications and Experience:5 years of progressive operations management experience in the logistics industry.Strong knowledge of transportation, freight forwarding processes, customs regulations, and supply chain optimization.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Analytic creativity, negotiation, and critical thinking skills, using a wide range of information and perspective to identify current conditions and needs.Excellent client relationship management skillsAbility to easily prioritize job duties according to the needs of the company.Excellent problem resolution and customer service skillsSuperior listening skills and the ability to use good judgment.Strong verbal and written communication skillsBachelors degree or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in a Freight Forwarding, Transportation and Warehousing operationsEstablished contacts or the ability to effectively network to create contacts
