The opportunity: Reporting to the Vice-President, Marketing, the Associate Vice-President, Marketing Communications oversees the strategic leadership and operations of Wellington-Altus external communications team. This role collaborates with the Vice-President, Marketing to design and execute high-impact communication strategies that elevate the firm's brand reputation and presence. Key responsibilities include: Developing integrated communications strategies in partnership with marketing and corporate stakeholders. Overseeing the organizations media engagement strategy and managing media inquiries. Presenting plans and recommendations to various audiences, including senior leadership. Providing strategic counsel on critical files and acting as a Communications lead for crisis situations. Supporting opportunities for executive leaders to build recognition and reputation. Driving the Wellington-Altus narrative through proactive content planning. Collaborating with subject matter experts on thought leadership pieces. Shaping best-in-class processes to support key stakeholders. Overseeing corporate announcements and managing special projects within Marketing. Leading and mentoring two direct reports, fostering a collaborative culture. Providing clear direction and professional development opportunities. Performing other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess: A bachelors degree or diploma in communications, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in Communications or related field. Experience working directly with senior executives. Experience using media monitoring and reporting tools. Proficiency with the MS Office suite. A strong understanding of the finance industry. Creativity, strong writing and editing skills. Strong people management and relationship-building skills. An ability to work independently in a high-demand environment. An ability to work within ambiguity and flexible to shifting deadlines. An ability to work with executives and under confidential circumstances. Conditions of employment: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Must be able to travel approximately 0-5% of the time. A background check may be required prior to commencing employment.
