We look forward to your interest.About Transcona RoofingEstablished in 1959, we are a full service roofing and waterproofing contractor dedicated to building long term relationships with our customers through the installation, repair, & maintenance of industrial, commercial & institutional buildings. The Project Manager is responsible to provide management oversight for all phases of project installations including coordinating employees, subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is being performed with quality, on schedule and within budget.Major Job Areas and Responsibilities:Production ManagementPrepare schedules and organize work plan for the production crewsDetermine materials required for each project; order the materials and coordinate deliveries directly to the work siteCheck delivery of material against purchase orders and handle any discrepanciesMonitor the materials to ensure appropriate materials are on site at all timesLiaise with the General Contractor and other project stakeholders regarding project progress, scheduling, change orders and any project issuesWork collaboratively with cross-functional team (Estimating, Accounting, Site, etc.) to supply information and implement solutionsReview roofing design to plan the sequence of work. Identify any practical problems in achieving the planned result and discuss any necessary changes with the general contractorMaintain frequent contact with site supervisor and perform site visits to monitor and maintain the project construction scheduleEnsure compliance with on field safety regulationsEnsure overall quality and performance of work done is according to project specificationsClient Relations & Business DevelopmentEstablish and maintain existing relationships with stakeholdersBilling & ReportingAssist with progress billings/invoices on a monthly basisAssist with the monthly work in progress (WIP) report for each job PayrollTrain all production foreman on the payroll app to record time worked for each production crew memberReview and approve all time worked to ensure accuracy on a daily basis for all crew membersTrack and report on project costs and schedulesEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma required; additional degree in Engineering (P.Eng) or diploma in Engineering Technology (CET) is recommended4+ years experience in the construction industryPrevious experience in project costing and planning (essential)Knowledge of roofing techniques and materialsStrong blueprint reading skillsProficiency in Computer programs such as Microsoft Office SuiteKey CompetenciesStrong verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop and maintain strong relationshipsHas a strong customer-service focus ensuring clients needs are met and dealt with professionallyGood organization and time management skills, keen sense of urgency ensuring all deadlines are metStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood judgement and decision making skillsStrong planning, organizing, scheduling and follow up skillsWorking ConditionsWork in an office environment 50% of the timeVisit worksites, climb up/down ladders, bending/crouchingPhysically lift and maneuver heavily weighted material, potentially overheadTime required to work is 45 50+ hours a week (based on seasonal conditions)Shifting demands and priorities, must be flexible and adapt to changeFrequent interruptionsValid drivers licence and clean abstract is required
