Were growing fast and we are looking for passionate changemakers to join our dynamic team. Primary Purpose: Step into a leadership role where youll shape the future of ASMs career services! This position oversees the development, planning, promotion, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive career services area designed to achieve successful graduate outcomes. The incumbent will support students through training, workshops, internships, employment support, and work-integrated learning opportunities. They will also ensure students and alumni have access to meaningful career development resources and employment opportunities to ensure integration and alignment with academic programs. Your Day-to Day: Program Development and Delivery:Design and lead career services, including job fairs, workshops, and training sessions, to drive graduate success.Provide personalized career advising to students, including goal setting, resume reviews, mock interviews, career exploration, labour market information, and general job search techniques.Create an annual calendar of career services events and workshops designed to develop Acsenda students into professionals in collaboration with the Student Services Director. Employer Engagement and Outreach:Cultivate partnerships with local, national, and international employers to create job opportunities. Develop external relationships to generate placements and job leads, ensuring students and graduates are informed of industry-specific opportunities.Outreach to employers to encourage participation in career services activities, such as career fairs, on-campus presentations, and industry panels.Event Management:Organize, promote, and execute career fairs, industry panels, and on-campus presentations.Collaborate with other departments to highlight the success of ASM graduates and career services programs.Student and Pre-Arrival Support:Oversee the development and delivery of pre-arrival job programs for new students to support recruitment initiatives.Work collaboratively with internal key stakeholders to manage and maintain accurate records of employer engagement and student outcomes.Alumni Relations Advise the ASM Alumni Association and provide guidance with organizing alumni events.Data Management and Reporting:Maintain statistics on graduate job placement, providing analysis and regular reports for institutional research and government reporting.Maintain and communicate evolving job placement opportunities for students including onsite job placement board. Trend Awareness and Policy Understanding:Maintain awareness of current trends in career services, labour market demands, and immigration policies that impact students and graduates.Other Duties as Assigned: Provide support as needed to the general operations of the Student Services department.This is primarily an on-campus, in-person position that may require a variable schedule to accommodate activities and time zones. The role may also involve working evenings and weekends to support student services events, career services events, workshops, and employer engagement activities.What Were Looking For: A bachelors degree in business, education, human resources, or a related field (masters degree preferred).At least 45 years of experience in career services, recruitment, talent development, or a related field, with post-secondary career services experience preferred.Proven supervision experience is preferred, with the ability to effectively lead and support team members.Strong event planning and management experience, including organizing career fairs, workshops, and employer engagement activities.Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage teams, and adapt to organizational growth.Strong industry connections to support employer engagement and expand opportunities for students.Comprehensive understanding of the Canadian job market and employment trends.Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.A commitment to supporting students success and contributing to an institutions growth.
