The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the dayto-day maintenance activities, including timely troubleshooting, root cause analysis and correctingperformance issues. The position is responsible for ensuring a safe operation, key targets andresults are achieved, and effective leadership of work teams while identifying and leadingcontinuous improvement initiatives.The attributes we are looking for:Coordinate planning, priority setting and follow-up of maintenance activities to facilitate optimum plant performance, including scheduling of maintenance personnel and contractors. Work with Production Supervisors, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Buyer to optimize maintenance resources utilization.Provide leadership to improve health and safety performance by being a role model in safety and demonstrating due diligence through applying the corporate health & safety program elements. These focus on incident prevention through hazard identification, implementing necessary controls, training, education, and audits. Where necessary, take corrective action to address unsafe situations and employee behaviours, uphold Parmalats cardinal and other safety rules and procedures, and communicate with appropriate resources to address any hazardous conditions or unsafe employee conduct.Provide leadership and supervision to staff by providing work direction, performance feedback, and recommendations for training and development. Promote a positive labour-management relationship and ensure compliance with the Companys corporate and legal obligations under the Collective Agreement (where applicable), as well as various statutes and regulations such as the Employment Standards Act, Workers Compensation Act, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.Monitor and ensure contractors adhere to facility procedures and achieve contractual requirements, including equipment installations, modifications and maintenance. Ensure that all relevant activities are conducted in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, GMP requirements. business standardsEnsure superior operating performance through identifying opportunities and implementing improvements in costs, and plant operations; troubleshooting production equipment performance issues, and provide effective and timely corrective action; ensuring effective implementation of maintenance and preventive maintenance programs and schedules; and coordinating unplanned equipment breakage repair, including manpower, material and time requirements and follow-up to ensure work is completed as per standards.Act as liaison between the Production, Maintenance, & Engineering teams to ensure resources are effectively utilized, issues resolved on a timely basis, and that the responsible managers are consulted/updated on appropriate activities and that required approvals are obtained for as per Plant Purchasing and Process Change policies.Assist with department budget by monitoring expenditures versus plan, and set up costs in SAP or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).What you will bring:College diploma or university degree or equivalent trade certificationThree (3) to five (5) years experience as a plant maintenance supervisor, preferably in a unionized environment.Three (3) years related experience in the Electrical & Controls and/or Mechanical fieldExperience in implementing preventative maintenance systems and managing maintenance budgets in accordance with an established operating plan.Strong understanding of process systems particularly in relation to dairy or food manufacturing facilities.Strong knowledge of process systems, high-speed packaging, food plant experience.Proven leadership, troubleshooting, and team building skills, ability to lead and supervise skilled trades group.SAP or CMMS (Maximo) maintenance system skills and experience, including work plans, work orders, equipment BOMsStrong leadership skillsStrong organizational skillsProficient with standard office computer technology such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office products, as well as database and management systems.What Lactalis will offer:Lactalis Canada believes in rewarding its people with the following comprehensive benefits package and perks:A Competitive Base SalaryA Performance-Based Bonus System4 Weeks of VacationBenefits starting day 1A Pension Program with an Employer Match at 100% of up to 6%Tuition reimbursement plan of up to $3,000/yearA Volunteer Day to give back to your communityLearning and Development opportunitiesA commitment to internal career advancement with potential for international mobility Our ESG commitment: Our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) roadmap drives our sustainability mission.
