Matchtech are working with a key client to support the recruitment of a Risk Lead to work on high profile railway projects in Toronto.The ProjectThe Risk Lead will support the delivery of major rail and transit projects in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).Metrolinx, a public agency of the Government of Ontario that manages and integrates road and public transport. Metrolinx is embarking on a transformative transit development plan that includes capital projects totalling more than $80 billion.The OnCorr project is the largest capital infrastructure project in Ontarios historic GO Rail Expansion program. It includes all works that facilitate train service, such as track, civil infrastructure, signalling, electrification infrastructure and electric vehicles, as well as the operations and maintenance of the GO rail network.GO Rail Expansion will transform the transportation network in the GTHA over the next decade. Metrolinx will transform the GO Transit rail network into a system that delivers two-way, all-day service every 15 minutes over core segments. Infrastructure upgrades will include adding tracks, expanding stations, electrification of the rail network, and new locomotives and train control systems to enable more frequent service.The RoleYoull lead the development of the Target Price risk register for one of the key Target Price bundles for OnCorr. Youll be central in ensuring that risks are identified, evaluated, challenged and priced correctly to ensure that a fair and controlled Target Price is achieved. Responsibilities include:Lead identification and definition of risk and opportunityEstablish robust monitoring mechanisms to track risk status throughout the Development Phase and ImplementationEvaluate potential risk impact and develop effective risk mitigation measures to reduce potential cost and schedule impacts in collaboration with the project team and the contractorWhat you bring to the projectUniversity degree (masters level is an asset) in engineering, business management, analytics, statistics, project management or a related fieldAt least eight years of experience in major project risk analysis, ideally in the rail or transit sectorsExperience with projects delivered as public-private partnerships is an assetAbility to speak and write fluently in EnglishThe legal right to work in Canada
