You will be responsible for daily management of all safety related plant and project requirements as well as ensuring compliance thru to installations on site. You will use your experience to guide the employees to maintain and improve our excellent record.Core ResponsibilitiesImplement, maintain & improve HSE policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including COR)Establish and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies, clients, industry groups, and stakeholders.Ensure that subcontractors are properly pre-qualified and adhere to required safety standards in keeping with company policy/legislationProvide training and develop safe work practices for equipment operationSiteDocs program management and accountability for both safety and quality controlOther Duties:Create safety plans for upcoming projectsManage plant security and office access requirements and monitor accessConduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate risks.Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on HSE matters, promoting a proactive safety culture.Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop effective corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.Develop and deliver HSE training programs to enhance employee awareness and ensure compliance with safety protocols.Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and develop action plans.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into business processes and projects.Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement in HSE practices.Conduct audits and inspections to assess HSE compliance and recommend improvements as necessary (internal and site)Purchasing and distribution of safety supplies and PPE.Facilitate modified and return to work programs for injured employees.Lead the joint health & safety committee.Manage safety and apparel program.Maintain the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program.Fleet ManagementQuality control documentation auditingQualifications and Experience:5+ years of field safety experience, preferably in a construction environmentConstruction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation preferred.Tickets: CSTS, WHMIS 2015, Fall Protection, First Aid & Advanced Safety TrainingPrefer previous experience providing safety training programs – WHMIS, Fall Protection MEWP etc.Full, current Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.ACSA Auditor Certification an assetSkills and Knowledge:Possess the demonstrated ability to motivate self and others and an ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision.Have good working knowledge of local government Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards as they apply to the construction industry.Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with employees, management, clients, and contractors.Strong written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
