About Us: 845 Spud Farms is a modern, growing potato farm located in Coaldale, Alberta. We are committed to producing high-quality potatoes while maintaining an innovative and sustainable approach. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a self-motivated Farm Equipment Operator to join our team. Position Overview: As a Farm Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of farm equipment. Your role will be essential in ensuring the efficient functioning of all activities related to cultivating, planting, irrigating, chemical/fertilizer application, harvesting, and storage/sorting of potatoes. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities: Farming Activities: Assist with cultivating, seed cutting, planting, irrigating, chemical application, and potato harvesting operations. Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Ensure farm machinery, vehicles, and conveyance equipment are in good working order. Perform in-field repairs as required. Product Shipping & Delivery: Participate in the shipping of potatoes during the season. This includes operating delivery vehicles (with valid license) or assisting with the loading process in the storage facility. Occasional Sunday work required. Operational Support: Provide support across field, shop, and storage facility operations. Fill in for absent team members as needed. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities adhere to Canada GAP standards and comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements: Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Drivers License. Experience in operating agricultural machinery and equipment. Ability to maintain a wide variety of farm equipment. Strong focus on continuous improvement. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Working Conditions: Regular working hours: 40-50 hours per week, with potential for additional hours during peak seasons. Fieldwork in varying environmental conditions (sun, wind, rain, snow). Schedule adjustments may occur based on farming needs. Training: On-the-job training will be provided as needed.
